Earth, Then and Now

Did you know that the Earth was formed billions of years ago? Our planet has changed a lot since then. Oceans and continents have moved, some animals and plants have evolved.

Even humans are kind of a new thing, you know… We’ve been here only for 200,000 years.

In the following book, you can find answers to many of your questions about the Earth:

  • How did the Earth form?
  • When did plants and animals first appear?
  • Where did the first people live on Earth?
  • How do oceans and continents move?
  • What keeps Earth warm?

We hope you enjoy this activity book and get to answer all your questions!

Animal Facts – National Geographic

National Geographic is one of the most renowned magazines that covers nature and science.

In this link (click here or in the picture above), you can find information about different species, learn interesting facts about the animals, and much more!

Reading exercises:

  1. In your notebook, copy three interesting facts about animals and then write them with your own words.
    • Example: “Cheetahs are the only big cats that can’t roar” –> “All big cats can roar, except for Cheetahs”
  2. Compare three characteristics of two animals of the same kingdom.
    • Example: “The Rock Pigeon is 12.5 inches in length, has only one call: a soft coo-cuk-cuk-cuk-cooo, and it depends on humans to survive. // The Barred Owl is 21 inches in length, has many different calls, and it often avoids human presence.”
  3. Look for an endangered species and think of ways to prevent its extinction.
  4. Create a short fact sheet about your favorite animal(s). Include a brief description, its habitat, diet, and 2 interesting facts. DO NOT copy any text, write everything with your own words.

We hope you enjoy reading these amazing materials from National Geographic.

Have a great day!
